Do you know what a panini is? It might not be exactly what you think. In today's episode, we're talking about words which seem the same in Italian and English, but are actually different. Along the way, we'll help you avoid some of the most common mistakes tourists make in Italy.

As always happens in Italy, we ended up talking mostly about food!

Make sure you remember what you learnt in today's lesson with our free bonus materials including a word list, quiz and flashcards.

Today's Italian words

Panino = Sandwich
Panini = Sandwiches
Biscotto = biscuit
Biscotti = biscuits
Un caffè = A short strong coffee (espresso) that Italians normally drink
Caffè americano = a long coffee (the way people normally drink it in America and UK)
Latte macchiato = The real Italian word for caffè latte
Bruschetta = Bruschetta (remember to pronounce it with a hard K sound, like brusKetta)
